i have a coot, its a two wheel steer, i have been across a swamp with it, plowed snow with it, and have had it stuck in some bad spots. they are awesome machines, but now mine needs a first gear. and it is so expensive, i just want to sell the thing. any takers… northern ny./???
@DamnStraightM35A2
irs and ifs also provides all four tires being on the ground at all times and unlike this coot they can alternate between 2wd and AWD witch means all four tires turn.
man that thing is a beast! it has no suspension beats the shit out of you its so fast i cant even see it! and its heavy as fuck what if that thing were to flip? at least i can flip my honda back over and the plastic takes alot to break i sugest you sink that piece of shit an get a real machine.
@bradfred2008
Unlike your Honda a Coot can handle more than a 45 degree side slope, go up a 60 degree hill, and back down the other side. (remember 90 degrees is straight up). I have never flipped mine because the center of gravity is so low and I have had it on more than a 45 degree side slope. I’ve driven it through more than a foot of snow with no chains, and pulled a 4000 pound car up a steep hill like it wasn’t there.
BTW, It would be tough to sink something that was designed to float.
@DamnStraightM35A2
you don’t think you can do all that with a 4 wheeler?
its pointless to argue with you im seeing you believe you have got the best “ATV”
il let you believe that, good luck with yer piece of junk:)
Let’s see your Honda take you across a deep pond WITHOUT getting you wet.
Let’s see your Honda drive to the top of the second highest peak in the lower 48, WITHOUT a winchout.
Let’s see your Honda go through two and a half foot snow drifts without getting stuck or breaking traction.
I have done work on “traditional” 4-wheelers and it sucks, all the wiring and shit snakes through the handle bars, everything is stacked on top of each other…
@MrMrtiki
From what I’ve read, there’s two models. One has two wheel steering and the other has four wheel steering. Here is a quote from the article:
“The 124x models utilize two-wheel steering while the 444x models utilize four-wheel steering. As you can imagine, the 444x models have a dramatically tighter turning radius.”
@Trent28 you could but you would have to get rid of the articutaion in the middle or come up with some overly priced complicated thing to fix. i thought it would be sixed wheels but, i was wrong.
That’s a pretty good piece of transportation- the simple genius of the swivel or twist in the middle is brilliant. Articulating the middle is great too but Much more costly. I think you Have found a good old design here in the “Coot” , especially for the simplicity. I don’t know what the cost was but if under$5,000 new today I’d bet they would sell even still
if anyone has any info on parts for a coot atv message me on my youtube page
these things are so hard to find i need a spiral gear and the other gear in the rear end
i would love to have mine running like the one in the video

Someone’s gotta make a version with treads
its cool and all but i could do all of that stuff with my sport atv

@SuperPolariskid ….um your sport atv aint amphibious
wanna bet bitch it floats when im in the water cuz i have mudlighs on it
besides i also hav an 8×8 argo if i ever need to cross a river or somethin
hardcore wheelin goin through those leaves… dont hurt yourself
Probably a reason why ATV’s get a bad name. Because people like you decide to drive through the woods and destroy trees for no reason…
thats worse than global warming
But is it…….?
that damn thing sucks nuts i can go through stuff wourse than that with my 2WD kawasaki and dont hert your self goin through the leavs
my lawn mowers engine sounds healthier that that
